RAI Amsterdam has plenty of parking facilities at and near the exhibition centre. We also offer around 30 electric charging stations.

For large public events, the capacity is not always sufficient and more distant sites are also used. Free and frequent shuttle buses are then used for transport to and from the RAI. Reference is made to these areas via signs on the public road and/or the police.

For more information, have a look at our parking website.

Yes. People with an official European parking card for the disabled (GPK) can use these special parking spaces, which are located close to the exit of the building. People with disabilities pay the normal RAI parking rate.

It's not possible to book a parking space for people with disabilities.
The RAI has several of these spaces. Should they be occupied, a parking attendant will help you find the best possible spot.

No, it is not possible to book a disabled parking space. The RAI has a number of disabled parking spaces. If these are already occupied, a parking attendant will help find a suitable parking space.

If the RAI car parks are full, you can use a parking area outside RAI Amsterdam only minutes away, which is served by shuttle buses.

If you booked and paid for a parking space, you can be certain of having a spot. When entering the garage or parking grounds, you will be assigned a parking space. If you booked in advance, the ticket will indicate where you can park. The ticket also explains which route you can follow.

The license plate of your car will be read automatically by a camera as you enter the garage. You will not receive an exit pass. You can pay the parking fee related to that license plate at the payment terminal before leaving the garage. When exiting the garage, your license plate will be read by the camera and the barrier will open automatically. Receipts are available from the payment terminal.

No, you cannot drive to the entrance by car. However, you can let someone get out at Lodge P7 and then leave the site again. Lodge P7 is in the middle of the complex. Follow P - RAI 7 to get to Lodge P7.

Parking at the parking garage of RAI Amsterdam is at your own risk (see the Visitor conditions).

Your licence plate is registered by our Parking Management System as soon as your vehicle enters one of the access roads to the parking garages or areas of RAI Amsterdam. When booking via parkeren.rai.nl, your licence plate is registered in our system as well to ensure it is recognised when you enter or exit the parking garage.

Your licence plate is registered in order to calculate how long you have parked, as no parking ticket is issued when entering the garage. You can also book a parking space via parkeren.rai.nl.

It is also possible via the registration to find your car in the parking when you did not remember where you parked it.

Yes. If you booked and paid for a parking space, you can be certain of having a spot. When entering the garage or parking grounds, you will be assigned a parking space.

If you booked in advance the ticket will indicate where you can park, for example P1/P2/P3/P4 or RAI / EXTERNAL. The ticket also explains which route you can follow.

No, this does not automatically mean there are no more parking spaces, only that booking is no longer possible. If there are no parking spaces available at the RAI, you will be directed to an external parking area, as indicated on the access roads around the RAI via (mobile) information panels.

You can easily change your licence plate yourself by logging into our parking webshop and selecting your booking there. Then select change parking space and then press the 'pencil' icon to change your licence plate number.

  • Dates cannot be changed by yourself. You can change it by sending an email to parking@rai.nl. Your booking will then be canncelled and refunded. You can then make a new booking.
  • Cancellation of a booking is not possible.

The conditions are simple:

  • Booking is only possible via iDEAL, VISA, MasterCard or American Express;
  • Booking is only possible via parkeren.rai.nl;
  • You can exit the parking garage using licence plate recognition, barcode or pin number (the latter two are indicated on your parking ticket).

After booking you will receive an email which includes a PDF file. This PDF is your confirmation and indicates the booking period and booking number.
You must have your confirmation and parking ticket or tickets when entering and exiting the parking garage (physical or on your smart phone).

You can park in parking garage 1 till 4. During special events, there are external parking locations. This will be clearly indicated in the product you select.

If you parked shorter than booked, you will not receive a refund. If you parked longer than the booked period, you can pay any extra costs at the exit.

When you arrive in the parking garage:

  1. A sensor will 'read' your licence plate. You will not receive an entry pass.

When returning to the parking garage:

  1. You do not have to pass by the payment machine. You can exit the garage thanks to licence plate recognition.
  2. If this does not work, you can scan the barcode at the exit column; the barcode is indicated on the PDF confirmation which was previously emailed to you. If you have not the printed ticket with you, you can also scan the barcode from your smartphone. Make sure it is not in dark mode and brightness on 100%.
  3. If you have parked longer than the booked period, you will have to pay for the extra days at the exit.

Yes, this is possible. But after exiting, you cannot use your parking card for 60 minutes to exit again.
You may not have access to the exact same parking space.

On www.amsterdam.nl/en/parking/park-ride you can read the conditions to get the P+R discount tariff. Also, you can read here how P+R works at RAI Amsterdam and other P+R locations in Amsterdam.

If you did not receive the P+R discount when paying at the payment machine, but you have been in the city centre by public transport, you can still get the P+R discount.

For this you can send an email with the following information to parking@rai.nl:

  • licence plate;
  • Public Transport travel history (request by mail at GVB kls@gvb.nl);
  • IBAN;
  • name.

The team has developed a fair and solid allocation procedure in order to allocate $(beurseditie). Important historical data such as customer loyalty (how many editions exhibited) and stand layout (i.e. surface, configuration) will be the basis for an exhibitor ranking. When conducting the allocation the team will consistently follow this exhibitor ranking. The result is a fair and proven process that was already used at many other RAI exhibitions.

We obviously intent this edition to be a one-off allocation procedure, for the $(exh-this-edition-year) edition only. All exhibitors will receive a waiver in their allocation letter which clearly emphasizes that no rights can be derived from the temporary location at $(beurseditie).

We aim to prevent deducting the stand size of exhibitors, the $(beurs-last-edition) stand-size will be leading.
It is important to understand that we cannot convey with individual exhibitors about their this years’ stand location. We trust on your understanding.

With the $(beurseditie) policy on regional representation we aim to offer comfort to exhibitors from non-European markets. Non-European manufacturers will be able to appoint their authorised European distributor or representative as a back-up to man their stand at $(beurseditie). This will ensure that RAI Amsterdam will remain the platform where the prime of top notch marine products from all over the globe are exhibited.

The possibility to have a stand be staffed by an authorised distributor or representative is offered under the following conditions:

  1. Only for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) from outside the European Territory (European Union, United Kingdom, Switzerland);
  2. The OEM should make the registration directly with RAI Amsterdam;
  3. All $(beurseditie) correspondence will be sent to the OEM;
  4. The OEM will remain the invoice address and remains responsible for all expenses;
  5. The OEM will send a notification to the RAI Amsterdam Team (info@rai.nl?subject=Regional%20Respresentation">info@rai.nl) which includes full contact details of the authorised distributor or representative that will be manning their stand;
  6. Once the stand personnel registration is open, the information of the distributor or representative manning the stand is filled in by the OEM.

We intent to return to the $(exh-year-original-layout) layout as soon as the situation allows us to. The current changes will affect the exhibitors’ $(exh-this-edition-year) location. For $(beurseditie-next) the $(exh-year-original-layout) floor plan will be our main reference.

We will frequently issue Exhibitor Update newsletters to all registered exhibitors. Consult the RAI Amsterdam website and Exhibitor Portal (for registered exhibitors only).

Please send us an info@rai.nl?subject=My%20question%20was%20not%20listed%20in%20the%20FAQ">email and we will get back to you shortly.

For exhibitors, during the exhibition period, the building is accessible from 2 hours before the start of the exhibition opening until 2 hours after the closing time on presentation of the exhibitor wristband.

Logistics

You may arrive 15 min before your time slot. Depending on traffic and space, we will check whether you can enter the work terrace straight away. Should you be late (later than 30 min), we recommend that you reschedule your booking to a later time.

Yes, we work with the RAI Logistics Management System (RAI LMS) for registering freight deliveries.

For access and optimum traffic flow, during set-up and breakdown of most events and for loading and unloading at the RAI, we ask you to reserve a time slot in advance via www.rai.nl/LMS.

You can amend your booking at a later date. Please complete your booking before the driver arrives at the RAI.

No, duplicate and consecutive bookings are not allowed. These will also be deleted. The idea is that you book a time slot for loading/unloading and only afterwards proceed to carry out your activities in the hall. If you need a few minutes longer, you can do so in consultation with the coordinator on duty at the traffic controllers.

However, you may make a booking in the morning hours to deliver stuff and again in the afternoon to collect your empties if necessary. Please note you need a valid booking if you want to enter a work terrace with a vehicle.

Certain vehicles such as vans lower than 2.70 m in height and passenger cars cannot make a booking in RAI LMS as they are not allowed on the work terrace. This is stated in our Traffic Regulations. You cannot therefore make a booking or you will see an error message.

There are a number of places available per time slot. If your preferred time slot is not available, all places are fully booked. In that case, please choose the next available time slot.

The event will be online in RAI LMS three weeks before build-up.

Vehicles up to 2.70 m high can be parked in the car parks P1 to P4. Vehicles taller than 2.70 m should park at the designated daytime parking location after the end of the time slot. Please ask the traffic controller about this location.

No, the loading and unloading area is not meant for vans. These vans must park in the P1/P2/P3 garage (up to 1.90 m high) P4 (up to 2.70 m high).
Goods lifts are available in the P1, P3 and P4 garages.

Exceptions are made during certain events. Please check the Traffic Regulations of the event concerned. These can be found on our website www.rai.nl under exhibiting.

During build-up and breakdown hours, parking is free. Vehicles parked in the garage can leave the parking facility by scanning their build-up badge at the garage exit. Truck traffic parked at a day parking location can leave the premises free of charge without any action needed.

The current venue was opened in 1961. Prior to this, RAI was situated in the Ferdinand Bolstraat for 40 years (The 'old RAI'). From the founding until 1922, RAI did not own an exhibition centre, but used the famous Amsterdam Palace for folk industry (Amsterdamse Paleis voor Volksvlijt). The first RAI exhibition was held there in 1895. The RAI Association that organized this event was founded in 1893.

All information regarding deliveries can be found in our regulations, terms and conditions.

Yes, this information can be found in our safe working practices manual.

No. As a result of the European tobacco legislation, RAI Amsterdam has been smoke-free since July 1, 2008. The smoking ban applies to all RAI buildings, including the catering locations and garages. Smoking is not permitted during set-up or breakdown.

For the convenience of smokers, RAI has arranged smoking areas in several outdoor locations. Outside the entrances you will find smoking columns for exhibitors and visitors.

We would like to point out that the government imposes penalties on people and companies that do not abide by the legislation. As RAI will be liable in case of violations, we will pass on any fines to the companies or individuals involved. To avoid having to resort to such measures, we will actively ensure that the law is upheld. Furthermore we count on the kind cooperation of all our guests.

You can find directions to RAI Amsterdam on the website and use the routeplanner.

A map can be found and downloaded here.

The locations of the main good entrances can be found here.

IT Service

When ordering cabled internet, one cable is delivered to your booth. If you would like to connect multiple computers, you can use a hub/switch and UTP patch cables. You can order these items at the Exhibitor Services Desk onsite or bring your own equipment.

Yes, it is possible to order Public IP addresses. Public IP addresses are available in packages of 3, 11 and 27. Your public IP address is an external facing IP which is accessible by anyone on the internet. In this situation there are no private IP addresses and no NAT. Your VLAN will be allocated for you and you will receive a PDF with your Public IP information per email.

All standard lines are configured with Private IP addresses. Your standard range is made up of 254 private IP addresses; the first 15 are fixed to use (for i.e. a printer) and the others are dynamic. DHCP pool: 16 – 253 (238 total). For each VLAN there are 254 private IP addresses, which will be NAT to 1 public IP address. The public IP address depends on the VLAN number that will be allocated for you. This will be done on the last build-up day before 8AM.

All our internet lines consist of dedicated lines, not shared connections. This guarantees a constant bandwidth availability and a constant latency, making these cabled connections suitable for time critical & high bandwidth applications. In addition; all our lines are synchronous (they have the same up & down speed). If you order 10Mb/s, you receive that bandwidth both up and down.

If latency is of key importance, please provide us with the required destination so our engineers can test this for you. If you have a URL for us, we can perform a test and get back to you with the results. Don't forget to provide your contact details (hall/ booth number, booth name, name caller and phone number caller).

If you pre-ordered cabled internet, you will find an ORANGE internet cable at your booth. The cable has an orange label attached to it providing you with your booth number, name and ordered bandwidth, as well as some technical information for our engineers.

If you pre-ordered cabled internet, you will find an ORANGE cable at your booth. Check your storage area or kitchen. In the event of a raised floor which is already closed, please contact your stand builder as they might have closed the floor over the cable.
If you are still not able to find the cable, please reach out to our IT Helpdesk through +31 (0)20 549 19 68.

All internet connections will be live on the last build-up day from 8AM. It is not possible to activate the cables prior to this date or time. Your cables may however be functional prior to this date and time due to testing and configuration, yet we cannot guarantee a fully working connection untill 8AM on the last build-up day.

The orange internet cable at your booth is approximately 10m long. If this is not long enough, please go to the Exhibitor Services Desk, where you can purchase a connector plug and a UTP cable to elongate your connection.

During the build-up period it is possible that a forklift truck accidentally drove over your cable. A bend in the cable is generally not a problem, but in the unlikely event of a broken cable / bare inner wires, we will send a technician to your booth.

You have a dedicated internet connection, not a shared connection, meaning you are the only user on this line. Bandwidth problems are most likely caused by your own network equipment, like WiFi routers, switches, hubs, other servers/computers, etc.. Connect the orange network cable directly to a laptop and go to www.speedtest.org to test the up- and download speed.

You have a dedicated internet connection, not a shared connection meaning you are the only user on this line. Bandwidth problems are often caused by your own network equipment, like wifi routers, switches, hubs, other servers/computers, etc.. A slow internet connection could also be caused because you use the entire bandwidth. Bandwidth upgrades are usually possible, go to the Exhibitor Services Desk for more information.

Your cables may however be functional prior to this date and time due to testing and configuration, however, we cannot guarantee a fully working connection till the last build up day.

Your VLAN will be allocated for you approximately a week prior to the event. As soon as this allocation has taken place, you will receive an email from our IT Department containing a PDF with your public IP range/ information.

Yes, glass fibre connections can be provided. Glass fibre connections are always tailor made solutions. Please contact your RAI Amsterdam contact person to discuss requirements and possibilities.

Yes, this is possible. A direct connection to a data centre is always a tailor made solution. Please contact your RAI Amsterdam contact person to discuss requirements and possibilities.

RAI can provide a low latency connection. A low latency connection is always a tailor made solution. Please contact your RAI Amsterdam contact person to discuss requirements and possibilities.

Deadlines are communicated in the Exhibitor Services web shop. Usually, this is 4 weeks prior to the first build-up day.

There is a technical reason for this. It comes down to the fact that this is the smallest number of IP addresses that can be reserved. You can choose to use just one or all of them.

All our cabled internet connections are dedicated lines, with the same up- and download speed. All lines are fully synchronous.

This has multiple reasons, but it all comes down to the complex technique required to provide internet connectivity which offers the bandwidth you ordered and has a guaranteed up-time. Also every internet connection has to be built, configured and broken down after the event. Time and time again, as every event has its own requirements. At home, the internet connection is most likely not as critical as it is at your stand.

Please consult your internal IT contact or your application developer to find out the IT requirements. With this information, RAI Amsterdam is able to provide a suitable internet connection.

First off, you need an internet connection with sufficient bandwidth for the purpose. You can then choose to split the internet connection using a switch and UTP cables. Using an unmanaged switch is the cheapest solution. It is also possible to have RAI Amsterdam create a shared internet network for you. This is fully supported by our RAI IT team.

If internet access is critical for your activities, we advise to use a wired internet connection. On a wired internet connection, bandwidth is guaranteed. Wired internet connections can be purchased via the Exhibitor Webshop or via Exhibitor Services.

Please read the factsheet Cabled internet connections to learn the specifics of your internet connection.

At some specific events, many exhibitors setup their own WiFi network using their own WiFi equipment. As a result, the frequency spectrum for WiFi is full. In a full frequency spectrum, connections are not possible anymore. Users will find it difficult to connect to their wifi network, connections will be slow and coverage is poor. For these reasons, RAI Amsterdam does not always provide wifi during events.

Wifi will be available on the first build-up day from 8AM. However, due to configuration and setup during build-up, the wifi will only be fully supported from the last build-up day from 8AM.

The SSID can be anything from 8 to 16 characters, preferably written in CAPITALS.

The password must contain a minimum of 8, and a maximum of 16 characters, preferably only letters written in lower characters. It needs to be simple for users to enter the password from all devices.

RAI Amsterdam provides a service called ‘Wifi on the Stand’. This can be ordered through our Exhibitor Services department. Please note; there is limited availability for this service. It may not be available for your event due to technical reasons.

By default, this is not possible. Peer to peer connections are blocked due to security reasons. However, if you choose to setup your own wifi network, you are free to enable peer to peer traffic on your wifi as long as you follow the terms for setting up your own wifi network.

By default, this is not possible. Peer to peer connections are blocked due to security reasons. However, if you choose to setup your own wifi network, you are free to enable peer to peer traffic on your wifi as long as you follow the terms for setting up your own wifi network.

When purchasing RAI Premium wifi online, you receive an automated confirmation email which is also your invoice. We are not able to resend this.

Wifi networks cannot be contained by walls or in a specific area. It is therefore possible that you can see other wifi networks, even if they are not broadcasted in your event area. We will do whatever possible to limit the number of visible wifi networks.

Not necessarily. You can use a portal page, shown to users once connected to your Event wifi network. A password is not required if you use a portal.

After the event, we are able to provide this information for free.

Due to the many potential interference sources, RAI Amsterdam is not able to guarantee a minimum bandwidth to be achieved on wifi.
If internet access is critical for your activities, we advise to use a wired Internet connection. On a wired internet connection, bandwidth is guaranteed.

You could consider a sponsor portal on the wifi. This portal can be customized with branding and will be shown to users once connected to the wifi. In addition, you can use the SSID (network name) to communicate the sponsor name. Consult your RAI Amsterdam contact person to explore the full possibilities.

The wifi network with the ‘2.4’ extension is broadcasted on 2.4GHz and is intended for older/simpler devices that are not capable to connect to the regular (5GHz) network. If your device detects both networks, it is best to connect to the network without extension.

We do not provide any form of support on your own devices or assistance on your own setup. Please contact your own IT department for technical assistance. RAI only supports products or services provided by RAI Amsterdam.

If you suspect your internet connection isn't working, please reach out to our IT Helpdesk through +31 (0)20 549 19 68.

RAI Amsterdam does not provide support on end user equipment. Please contact your own IT department or supplier for support.

Unfortunately not. We recommend you to contact the RAI Business Centre (studio@fossamedia.nl), located in the corridor below Entrance D. Perhaps they can be of some assistance.

Spanning tree protocols, trunking and VLAN ID exchanges are not supported at switch level. If incorrect protocols are used, the switch port will be blocked. The result is that your connection is no longer working. Change settings on your equipment to prevent the port being blocked.

The installation of your own wifi network is permitted provided that our terms are followed. When a cabled internet connection is used to give a wifi-router access to the internet, the cabled internet connection may seem slow because the router does not perform due to interference. RAI Amsterdam supports the cabled connection but not in any way the wifi related equipment.

That depends on your equipment. If you want to be sure your equipment/devices will function within the RAI IT network, please contact your internal IT contact or equipment provider. To learn about the specifications of our internet connections, please read the factsheet Cabled internet connections.

In the assumption that your router is set up in DHCP mode, please note that the public IP addresses will not be assigned automatically. You are required to assign the IP addresses manually. Please note: The lease time on public IP addresses is 45 minutes. Do not forget to ‘release’ when you disconnect a device. In case all IP addresses are leased, a new device will not be assigned a new IP address, making it seem the internet connection is not working.

The Terms for setting up your own wifi network state that you can use several specific wifi channels. We advise you to check if other channels cause less interference. If internet access is critical for your activities, we always advise to use a wired internet connection. On a wired internet connection, bandwidth is guaranteed and interference is no issue.
