Successful first Expo Amsterdam Marathon at RAI Amsterdam
Wednesday, 22 October 2025
Starting Thursday, October 16, thousands of participants flocked to Hall 8 of RAI Amsterdam to collect their race bibs. For the first time, RAI served as the central location for the Marathon Expo, a new step in enhancing the event experience.
The anniversary edition was given extra sparkle by the exhibition celebrating 50 years of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon, where visitors could reflect on the rich history of the event. In addition, many exhibitors showcased their latest products and innovations in running, health, and sports experience.
Organizer Le Champion is very pleased with this new partnership with RAI Amsterdam as both partner and sponsor of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon. This collaboration marks an important step in the further professionalization and growth of the event. “The move from Sporthallen Zuid to RAI Amsterdam gave us the opportunity to elevate the experience for everyone involved,” said René Wit, Race Director of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon. While RAI was now the beating heart of the Expo and race bib collection, Sporthallen Zuid continued to play a key role in providing medical services and hospitality for Le Champion members.
RAI CEO Paul Riemens also expressed great enthusiasm about the collaboration: “The marathon is an iconic event for the city of Amsterdam. It’s fantastic that we were able to facilitate the entire Marathon Expo. Our goal is to add value to the city through our trade shows and events. Moreover, health, nutrition, sports, and physical activity are key themes that RAI Amsterdam is committed to every single day. Sport connects people, and through this partnership, we can further demonstrate our connection with the city,” said a proud Riemens.
Amsterdam City Walk with RAI Team
RAI colleagues also got moving themselves. During the Amsterdam City Walk, eighteen enthusiastic employees laced up their walking shoes for a beautiful 20-kilometer journey through the heart of Amsterdam. The route took them through the Amsterdamse Bos, along the Amstel River, across the canals, through Vondelpark, and ended at StrandZuid. A sporty and connecting experience that perfectly matched the festive atmosphere of the marathon weekend.
