IBC badge includes GVB access

IBC2025 badge now also serves as travel pass

During IBC2025, visitors won’t just travel to a world-class event, they’ll move easily through the city as well. For the first time, the official event badge is directly linked to Amsterdam’s public transport network. Visitors simply scan their badge to access trams, metros and buses across the city.

This smart integration is the result of a collaboration between RAI Amsterdam, IBC, GVB (Amsterdam’s public transport operator) and CredsNow, a provider of digital access and identity solutions. Each badge contains a unique QR code directly linked to the GVB system. Additional tickets, cards or apps are no longer needed.“This is more than a convenience,” said Tamsin Christofides, Operations Director, IBC. “This reflects our commitment to sustainability, user-centric innovation, and our ongoing efforts to ensure that Amsterdam continues to be a welcoming and accessible destination for IBC2025”.

RAI Amsterdam has long championed free city transport for IBC attendees. The shift from paper transport cards to a fully integrated digital travel pass is a logical next step. “This integration supports our ambition to create truly sustainable events, and underwrites RAI’s long term commitment to the IBC Show,” said Maurits van der Sluis, COO of RAI Amsterdam. “By connecting the city’s transport system directly to the badge, we’re removing barriers and improving the visitor journey in a meaningful, future-forward way.”

CredsNow, the platform powering the badge integration, played a key role in making this vision a reality. “We’re proud to support IBC with our secure, smart infrastructure,” said Ivan Lazarev, CEO , CredsNow. “This collaboration showcases how digital innovation can deliver real-world impact and smarter event mobility.”

The response from GVB has been equally positive: “Our city continues to champion fair transport policies and future-ready event experiences for international visitors,” said Erik Erik Maitimo at GVB. “Close cooperation with RAI Amsterdam and event partners has helped us offer flexible, affordable, greener travel experiences for exhibition attendees. This collaboration demonstrates what’s possible when innovation meets purpose – by embedding our services into the very fabric of the IBC experience, we make public transit the default and easiest choice.”

IBC2025 takes place from 12–15 September at RAI Amsterdam. Visitors can use their badge not only to access the event, but also to travel across the city with all GVB services. Fewer cars, fewer tickets and a smoother, more sustainable way to experience Amsterdam.
