Over 1,100 Amsterdammers celebrate Christmas at the RAI

On Wednesday 10 December, RAI Amsterdam opened its doors for the largest SINA Christmas market ever. Stichting SINA (Samen Is Niet Alleen) supports families living at or below the poverty line. Over 1,100 Amsterdammers enjoyed a festive market filled with gifts, fairground attractions and food stalls.

A Christmas market full of warmth and connection
For many visitors, celebrating Christmas with presents and a day out is not a given. Thanks to the efforts of 180 volunteers and dozens of companies and organisations, this afternoon was made possible for hundreds of families. During the sixth and biggest edition of the SINA Christmas market, over 1,100 visitors came to the RAI via the Amsterdam Food Bank. In the Europa Foyer, 35 stalls offered personal care products, food items, toys and books. Visitors were able to put their own package together from these products. At the end of the afternoon, the ‘dance palace’ opened in Café Amsterdam, featuring performances by various artists. Outside, the Congress Square was transformed into a mini winter wonderland. There were fairground attractions for children, food and drink stalls, flower stands and live acts.

Together we make a difference
RAI Amsterdam played an active role. Our CSR department sponsored drinks served during the event. In addition, we donated a large stock of Lipton tea boxes. In this way, we did not only contribute to a festive day, but also to social impact. We are proud that, together with Stichting SINA and all other partners, we were able to create a wonderful day for people for whom this is not a given. Everyone deserves that, especially during this time of year.
