RAI Amsterdam has been nominated for two Exhibition News (EN) Awards. In addition to Best International Venue, the RAI has also been nominated in a new category: Best Venue Event Safety Plan. The winner of this award has developed the most complete and well thought-out plan to ensure the safety of events during and after corona time.
The Exhibition News Awards are presented annually to companies that have made an outstanding contribution to the exhibition sector and the ceremony is considered the most important event in the industry.
Best Venue Event Safety Plan
Organising an event during the Covid-19 outbreak is a difficult task. The judges for this award look at important new initiatives that the venue has developed to help organisers and exhibitors keep their event safe. These include guaranteeing hygiene guidelines, safe assembly and disassembly of events, making it possible to keep a 1.5-metre distance from arrival to departure and regulating the flow of visitors. All these adjustments are aimed at protecting the health and safety of all those involved.
The wellbeing and safety of all parties involved is paramount. Other nominees in this category include Business Design Centre, East of England Arena & Events Centre, Emirates Old Trafford, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, The HAC and The NEC. "We are proud to have been nominated for this special award and are ready to host business meetings at the RAI in accordance with the one and a half metre guideline and the corona protocol 'RAI Amsterdam - Safe, Responsible and Hospitable', said Maurits van der Sluis, COO RAI Amsterdam.
Best International Venue
The category 'Best International Venue' applies to all international exhibition halls with a floor area of 10,000 m2 or more that facilitate national and international events. RAI Amsterdam was nominated for the 'Best International Venue' award together with Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre and Shanghai New International Expo Center.
Previous awards
RAI Amsterdam has already won the award for Best International Venue six times. In 2018, the jury said of the RAI: "RAI Amsterdam works closely with organisers and the city to achieve the best possible result for its clients. Moreover, the RAI really shows that it is a knowledge leader in our industry". The winners will be announced shortly.
