15,000 booster shots per day possible

With the newly opened XXL vaccination location at RAI Amsterdam, the Municipal Health Services (GGD) is preparing for 15,000 booster shots per day. This way, the city of Amsterdam can comply with the order of the central government to give everyone over the age of 18 who wishes a booster shot before the end of January 2022. Alderman Simone Kukenheim (Health) visited the new XXL vaccination location.

With the RAI, a central and easily accessible location in the city has been chosen in order to be able to give as many residents of Amsterdam as possible a booster shot in a short time. Alderman Kukenheim: “With this acceleration, we hope to protect as many residents as possible as soon as possible, especially now that we are dealing with the new - more contagious - Omikron variant. The Municipal Health Services is working hard to give everyone whose turn it is a booster shot. The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) indicates which people can make an appointment. This goes by year of birth. I call on everyone to get this extra protection, for yourself and your loved ones. Let's take care of each other, especially in this time."

Multiple vaccination locations at the RAI: booster shot by appointment

People who are up for the booster shot can make an appointment online. By making this appointment, the administrative work is done digitally. This speeds up the process on site, allowing capacity to be doubled compared to free entry. For the booster shot, people enter through entrance C of the RAI. As of friday the 24th of December this will be entrance F. People traveling by car can follow the signs for entrance.

Free entry remains possible for getting the first or second shot at the RAI. Testing is made possible, after making an appointment, at the pavilion in front of our complex opposite the ROC of Amsterdam. This will also remain possible at locations: Plein 40-45 and Anton de Komplein.

All locations are open during the holidays. However, there are adjusted opening hours. Check your appointment and/or the website of the Municipal Health Services in Amsterdam.
