HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show retires
RAI Amsterdam is discontinuing HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show. The changes in the market and the demand from participating exhibitors for one strong water sports event in the Netherlands have led to this decision. In March this year, the 65th edition and thus the last HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show took place. It is with a heavy hart that RAI Amsterdam is saying goodbye to this iconic event for water sports.
The decision to discontinue the HISWA originates from the greatly changed water sports world. Boat ownership has declined, a trend expected to continue in the coming years. In recent years, this has led to changes at the fair and a decline of visitor numbers. Another reason is the demand of the exhibitors. Almost 50% of the exhibitors participate in both the HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show in the RAI and HISWA te Water in Lelystad. Many have indicated that this is too big a marketing investment.
With the end of HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show, space is offered to HISWA te WATER in Lelystad, organised by HMM Exhibitions. Brand owner of the trade fairs Vereniging HISWA-RECRON supports this decision in the interest of the water sports industry.
