RAI Amsterdam expands Aquatech into Southeast Asia
Monday, 10 November 2025
RAI Amsterdam proudly announces the launch of Aquatech in Southeast Asia. From 25 to 27 November 2026, the new international trade show for water technology—Aquatech Asia—will take place for the first time in Bangkok. With this expansion, Aquatech responds to the growing demand for sustainable water solutions in a region facing rapid urbanization, climate change, and increasing water challenges.
Aquatech Asia is organized by RAI Amsterdam in collaboration with VNU Asia Pacific. The event brings together international water experts, technology companies, and policymakers to showcase innovative solutions for urgent regional issues such as water availability, water quality, flood and drought management, climate resilience, and integrated water management.
The trade show is supported by an impressive list of founding partners, including NX Filtration, Nijhuis Saur Industries, Ramboll ((Netherlands Water Partnership), and Water Alliance. The Dutch government and the Dutch Embassy in Bangkok are also closely involved. “Aquatech’s expansion to Bangkok is a significant step in addressing the growing water challenges in Southeast Asia,” said Daan Burghouts, Director Aquatech Global at RAI Amsterdam. “Our presence in Bangkok will foster collaboration and knowledge exchange, enabling water to support societal progress and resilience.”

With Aquatech Asia, RAI Amsterdam adds a fourth international location to its Aquatech portfolio, alongside Amsterdam, Mexico, and China. The event aligns with RAI’s mission to connect and inspire people and markets worldwide through impactful events. Aquatech Asia will take place from 25–27 November 2026 in Bangkok. RAI Amsterdam strengthens international position with growing trade show portfolio
RAI Amsterdam has been expanding its international presence for decades, with a clear acceleration since 2008. Driven by an entrepreneurial strategy, RAI develops its own trade show brands in collaboration with strong local partners or independently, depending on the market. By operating internationally, RAI not only increases its reach and network but also strengthens the brand value of its titles. Aquatech is a prime example of this approach, with successful editions in China, Mexico, and now Bangkok. Collaboration with the Dutch government and top sectors plays a key role in this strategy. By positioning Dutch expertise globally, RAI contributes to sustainable transitions, export growth, and the increased impact of its events both in Amsterdam and abroad.
