ISPO 2026 moves to RAI Amsterdam

The world’s largest sports and outdoor trade fair chooses Amsterdam as its new home base
After 25 years in Munich, ISPO – the leading international trade fair for sporting goods, outdoor and winter sports industries – will make a historic move in 2026: the event relocates to Amsterdam. From 3 to 5 November 2026, RAI Amsterdam will welcome more than 50,000 visitors from the global sports industry.

A strategic choice for growth
The move to Amsterdam and the shift to early November 2026 are deliberate decisions by organiser Raccoon Media Group and partner Messe München. This step enhances international accessibility and aligns better with global buying cycles. For North America and Asia, Schiphol Airport offers excellent connections, making participation easier. Many major brands also have their headquarters in or near the Netherlands, bringing ISPO closer to key decision-makers. Mike Seaman, CEO of Raccoon Media Group, explains: “Amsterdam is one of Europe’s best-connected cities. The new date and location make ISPO more attractive for retailers and brands worldwide.”

A renewed ISPO experience
ISPO 2026 will occupy eight halls at RAI Amsterdam, covering 45,000 m². The event will be more than a traditional trade fair, featuring spectacular activations such as a Rail Jam and climbing wall. Day one will host the ISPO Leaders’ Summit, focusing on themes like participation, sustainability and fair trade. There will also be crossover opportunities: ISPO will run alongside the International Running Expo, giving visitors access to both events.

RAI Amsterdam, a partner for sport
RAI Amsterdam brings people together and actively contributes to the city and society. Sport plays an important role in this mission. In October 2025, the RAI was the starting point for 60,000 marathon runners and hosted the Marathon Expo. Other events such as Jumping Amsterdam, the Amsterdam Sports Gala (21 January 2026) and the fitness race event HYROX also take place at the RAI. ISPO 2026 fits perfectly with this ambition to give sport and movement a stage. Maurits van der Sluis, COO of RAI Amsterdam, says: “We are proud that ISPO has chosen Amsterdam. Our venue offers space, flexibility and an inspiring environment to drive the industry forward.”

Impact on the city and sector
With more than 50,000 visitors over three days, ISPO will provide a significant economic boost to Amsterdam. The collaboration between RAI, the Amsterdam Convention Bureau and the municipality of Amsterdam ensures the city can showcase its sporty and sustainable character to an international audience. ISPO 2026 will take place from 3 to 5 November 2026 at RAI Amsterdam.
