RAI Amsterdam promotes sustainable stand construction with Better Stands
RAI Amsterdam has joined the international Better Stands programme to further enhance the sustainability of stand construction at its events. Through this collaboration, RAI underlines its ambition to drive sustainability in the events industry and to make a positive impact on both people and the planet.
Better Stands is an initiative by Informa that promotes the transition from traditional single-use stands to reusable stand systems. By encouraging the use of modular, circular solutions, the initiative significantly reduces waste, COā emissions, and the impact on logistics and build-up times.
The RAI will actively promote the use of Better Stands labels among exhibitors. Exhibitors are encouraged to choose solutions that meet the programme’s sustainability criteria when designing and constructing their stands. This way, they directly contribute to reducing material waste and promoting a circular economy within the exhibition industry.
“As both organiser and facilitator of international trade fairs, we feel a responsibility to foster sustainability throughout the value chain,” says Bart van der Heijden, Director of Events at RAI Amsterdam. “By collaborating with Better Stands, we offer exhibitors a tangible tool to contribute to a future-proof events industry.”
The RAI will inform exhibitors about the benefits of sustainable stand construction, share best practices, and work with preferred suppliers offering reusable systems. The use of Better Stands labels will also be prominently featured in upcoming editions of its trade shows.
With this step, the RAI once again reinforces its strategic goal to be an accelerator of sustainable innovation, in line with its long-term vision for 2030.
