Strong year driven by growth in exhibitions

RAI Amsterdam looks back on a strong year. In 2025, we achieved a revenue of €172 million. This is the highest revenue ever in an odd-numbered year, when fewer events take place than in even-numbered years.

Growth was driven in part by an increase in both the number and scale of national and international exhibitions, including Aquatech China. Compared to 2023, the most recent odd-numbered year, revenue increased by 14 per cent. Operating profit (EBITDA) reached €29.7 million and net profit €9 million.

“We once again look back on an excellent year,” says CEO Paul Riemens. “Amsterdam remains a highly attractive location for events, thanks to its accessibility and historic setting. Combined with our innovative organisation and hospitality, this provides a strong foundation for success.”

International growth continues
In 2025, more than 280 events took place at RAI Amsterdam, welcoming nearly 1.5 million visitors. In addition, we organised eight of our own events abroad and launched two new international exhibitions: Aquatech Asia in Bangkok and GreenTech North America in Philadelphia.

The international growth strategy is progressing according to plan. Riemens: “We are increasingly bringing our own exhibition concepts to other countries. While growth opportunities in Amsterdam are limited, we see strong opportunities internationally, particularly in Asia and North and Central America.”

Connecting international events with the city
In 2025, we strengthened the connection between international events and the city, the region and the Netherlands. Together with partners, including the Amsterdam Convention Bureau, we organised several impact programmes.

During the EASL Congress, residents of Amsterdam could receive free liver tests, and during the ERS Congress free lung tests. These initiatives attracted hundreds of visitors and brought societal topics closer to a wider audience.

“These programmes show that international events offer more than places to meet,” says Riemens. “They connect international knowledge and networks with local challenges and ambitions.”

Outlook: growth and area development
We expect another positive year in 2026. The event calendar is well filled and further growth is expected for our own events.

In addition, we are working on the development of the RAI Quarter. Riemens: “We are working on the next phase of the area development, with the aim of creating a vibrant and future-proof district where events, living, working and leisure come together.”
