tiny houses for liver screening during EASL

High demand for free liver health checks at RAI Amsterdam — please be aware of waiting times

The free liver health checks taking place at RAI Amsterdam from 7 to 10 May have seen high interest from the public. Since the start of the initiative, many Amsterdam residents and EASL Congress attendees have taken the opportunity to participate in this accessible health screening. And rightly so — it shows a growing awareness of liver health and the importance of early detection.

Due to the high turnout, visitors should note that a maximum of around 200 tests can be conducted per day. This may lead to long waiting times, and during peak moments, it’s possible that not everyone can be accommodated.

The initiative is a joint effort by EASL, RAI Amsterdam, and the Amsterdam Convention Bureau, aimed at raising awareness around liver disease — a condition that often shows no symptoms until its later stages. Preventive screening can therefore be of great value.

The screenings are available to anyone aged 18 and older, without an appointment. Testing takes place in tiny houses outside Entrance C of the RAI. The procedure takes around ten minutes, is painless, and results are shared on the spot by a medical professional.
