Safe and hospitable events

Safety and hospitality are at the heart of RAI Amsterdam. Every year, we welcome more than 1.5 million visitors across around 500 events. We work on improving safety every day to provide a safe and comfortable environment for organisers, exhibitors and visitors.

From build-up to break down, online and on site, we continuously improve safety across our venue and events.

Access

We want everyone to feel welcome and safe at RAI Amsterdam. That is why our General Access Policy applies to everyone on our premises. The policy helps us manage access to our venue and protected areas in a safe and transparent way. This allows us to know who is on site, where they are and why.

During event build-up and break down, you can only access RAI Amsterdam with a personal QR code or a build-up and break down badge. If you work in one of our halls during this period, please register online in advance.

Build-up and break down

Build-up and break down are some of the busiest stages of any event. Organisers, exhibitors, contractors, suppliers and RAI colleagues all work together in a fast-moving environment. That is why following safety rules is essential at every stage.

At RAI Amsterdam, safety comes first. We follow Dutch laws and regulations and provide clear, practical guidelines that are easy to understand and follow. This helps us create a safe and welcoming working environment for everyone on site.

We continue to strengthen our approach to safety and respond to changing safety needs, so everyone can work safely and responsibly during build-up and break down.

Safe Working Practices manual

Safe working starts with clear guidelines. That is why we have created the Safe Working Practices manual. It applies to everyone working in and around RAI Amsterdam and helps us create a safe and welcoming environment together.

The manual explains the safety rules and procedures that apply while you are working on our premises. We regularly review and update the handbook to ensure it reflects current practice and complies with applicable laws and regulations.

Do you have any questions? Please contact your RAI Amsterdam contact person or email safety@rai.nl.

A smoke-free environment

RAI Amsterdam is smoke-free. This applies to the building, the parking garages and all entrances. E-cigarettes are not permitted either.

If you would like to smoke, please use one of the designated smoking areas on our premises. You can recognise these areas by the green smoking symbol. Please dispose of cigarettes in the ashtrays provided.
