Works at the RAI during the summer period

Between 10 July and 28 August, various works will take place on and around the RAI Amsterdam site. These activities may temporarily result in additional traffic, changed routes and possible noise disturbance. With this update, we would like to inform you about the planned works and what to expect.

Works at P7 and temporary cycle path closure
During this period, the entrance and exit route of car park P7 will be fully renovated. The existing surface will be excavated and resurfaced with new asphalt. At the same time, we are working together with Weerproof Amsterdam to improve water drainage on the site. The new asphalt will help reduce flooding and standing water that regularly occur on the RAI site and the Europaboulevard during heavy rainfall.

As a result of these works, the entrance and exit of P7 will be temporarily closed. In addition, the cycle path alongside the green zone will be closed by the municipality during this period. Cyclists are therefore advised to cycle around the RAI via the Wielingenstraat.

Additional traffic via Wielingenstraat
At the same time, construction will take place for the temporary pavilion on the forecourt for the IBC event. As traffic will not be able to use the route via P7, construction and event traffic will temporarily access the site via P9. This may result in increased traffic in the Wielingenstraat compared to normal.

Works near the Elicium
In addition, works will take place between 21 July and 14 August on the north side of the Elicium, near the passage between the forecourt and the congress square. The asphalt in this area will be removed and replaced. As a result, the route between the forecourt and the congress square will be temporarily closed.

The removal of the asphalt is expected to take approximately one week and will take place during office hours. Temporary noise disturbance may occur during this period.
We will do everything possible to minimise inconvenience and would like to thank you in advance for your understanding.

If you have any questions about the works, please feel free to contact us via buren@rai.nl.
