The well-known RAI signal is undergoing renovation
The RAI signal at our forecourt has been a familiar sight for decades, a proud landmark for visitors, event organisers and neighbours. This summer, we’ll be restoring this national monument. The structure will be modernised, while preserving its original charm. The renovation will be carried out with respect for its heritage, using sustainable and intelligent solutions that align with the signal’s function and design.
Our plans
We’re taking a thorough and considerate approach:
> The banner frames will be replaced by dimmable LED screens
> The tower will receive a fresh coat of high-quality paint
> The digital clock and temperature display will return
The project timeline
Work will get underway as of July 2025 and is due to be completed at the beginning of December 2025. The renovation will take place in two phases:
Phase 1 (beginning of July until mid-August)
During this phase, the current island elements — including the RAI logo and the banner frames — will be gradually dismantled. After that, we’ll clean the tower using high-pressure water to remove the old layer of paint.
In between works (mid-August until October)
During this phase, the tower will temporarily stand alone, without the RAI logo or island elements.
Phase 2 (October until the beginning of December)
We’ll be reassembling the RAI signal. With dimmable LED screens, the RAI logo, and the digital clock and temperature display. Finally, we’ll give the structure a fresh coat of paint and programme the technology.
