King’s Day event at RAI Amsterdam
On Monday 27 April 2026, the Netherlands celebrates King’s Day. Across Amsterdam, events take place throughout the city, including at RAI Amsterdam. From 12:00 to 22:00, we host the dance event Free Your Mind x Oranje Bloesem for the first time, organised by 4PM Entertainment and Free Your Mind.
Build-up and dismantling
We start building the festival on Saturday 25 April and finish dismantling on Tuesday 28 April. Sound checks take place on Sunday 26 April between 19:00 and 21:00.
During the nights of 26 to 27 April and 27 to 28 April, work will take place on the outdoor grounds between 23:00 and 08:00. We do our utmost to limit inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Permit and sound regulations
The city district Zuid has issued the event permit, and the environmental service Noordzeekanaalgebied has granted the sound exemption. Together with the organiser, RAI Amsterdam, the police, fire brigade, environmental service and the city district, we have made clear arrangements to ensure the event runs safely and smoothly.
Traffic measures
We manage visitor flows carefully, both when guests arrive and when they leave the event.
The cycle path across the RAI Amsterdam grounds will be closed. Cyclists are redirected through the park via the Boerenweteringpad. The contractor ensures this route remains accessible, supported by traffic controllers. These measures apply on 27 April from 07:00 to 00:00. Advance signage indicates the temporary closures. To support the build-up and the event itself, Europaplein (entrance P7) will also be closed on 27 April. The necessary traffic measures will be in place.
Experiencing inconvenience
If you experience inconvenience during the event, you can contact the organiser via +31 6 86 16 94 52 or info@freeyourmindfestival.nl. The phone line is available on Monday 27 April from 11:00 to 23:00. When you call, we ask for your name, zipcode, street and house number. This allows us to carry out measurements in the area and include your report in the evaluation.
You can also contact us directly via buren@rai.nl.
If you cannot reach the organiser, you can contact the City of Amsterdam via www.amsterdam.nl/contact or by calling 14 020.
Cleaning after the event
After the festival, we clean the area in and around the entrances along Europaboulevard, as well as the wider area between RAI Amsterdam and Station Zuid.
