Historic carriages travel through Amsterdam

On Saturday 11 July, a unique carriage ride will take place in and around RAI Amsterdam. We would like to inform local residents about the event and its potential impact near Europaplein.

Historic carriages travel through Amsterdam
On 11 July, driving club Hoofdstad Aanspanning will organise a carriage ride with around 30 historic horse-drawn carriages. Participants are expected to arrive from 16:00 at parking area P5 of RAI Amsterdam.

The ride starts at 20:00 from the RAI. Accompanied by 2 police motorcycles and 15 traffic marshals, the procession will travel towards Vondelpark, where a short stop will be made to light the carriage lamps.

Route and schedule
After the Vondelpark stop, the route continues through Amsterdam city centre. Around 22:30, there will be a longer break at Noordermarkt. The procession then returns to the RAI.

For residents near the venue, the key routes are:

  • Outbound: via Europaboulevard and Wielingenstraat towards Vondelpark
  • Return: via Scheldestraat and Europaboulevard back to the RAI

The full route can be found on the website and Facebook page of Hoofdstad Aanspanning.

Minimising disruption
We expect minimal disruption due to professional traffic guidance. Any manure will be cleared during the event by a street cleaning vehicle.

If you experience disturbance, you can report it via:
