Mood Garden opens its doors on RAI Amsterdam frontsquare

Thursday, 2 November 2023

Amsterdam, November 2, 2023 - Today Mood Garden opens its doors on the forecourt of RAI Amsterdam, an impressive 270m2 greenhouse that immerses visitors in an oasis of flowers and plants. With this unique experience, Bloemenbureau Holland, on behalf of the Dutch floriculture sector, wants to make people aware of the positive effects that flowers and plants have on our physical and mental well-being.

Bloemenbureau Holland has created the Mood Garden to allow visitors to personally experience the beneficial effects of flowers and plants. This interactive experience takes place in a spacious greenhouse with four diverse zones that correspond to different moods. Visitors are invited to explore these zones with the support of an audio guide, allowing them to discover the beneficial properties of flowers and plants on a visual, olfactory and tactile level.

Using headphones, visitors are guided through the Mood Garden's various spaces. Here they experience the contrast between a drab environment and a lush green environment and its influence on their state of mind. In a serene oasis of calm, filled with purifying and healing houseplants, visitors can rediscover themselves and experience the power of plant experiences. The audio guide encourages visitors to try Aerial Yoga amidst nature, write a loving message for another, and immerse themselves in a world of different scents and textures.

The Mood Garden is free to enter and doors will be open November 2 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and November 3 and 4 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The giant greenhouse cannot be missed on the RAI's forecourt and is easily accessible by bicycle, car and public transportation. After the Mood Garden, all the flowers and plants will be donated. They will be given away by Helen's Free Food Market in Amsterdam and then given a second life in nursing homes and community centers.
