On Tuesday, October 31, between 08:00 and 16:00, a large-scale exercise will take place in our RAI Theater and Congress Square. This exercise is organized by police forces in cooperation with the RAI and other emergency services. The aim is to run through and train on various scenarios. Within the RAI we facilitate this exercise, in which our tactical team of the RAI crisis organization is also involved. To make the exercise as realistic as possible, we are working together with the ROC, who will deploy students as extras.
During this exercise, which falls within the higher violence spectrum, there will be police department activities that are not common in our neighbourhood. Therefore, it is important to know that the exercise will only take place in and around the RAI theater. You may hear various alarms and sirens between 08:00 and 16:00. We want to emphasize that this is an exercise, to prevent unnecessary 112 calls.
During the exercise, certain areas will be closed to the public, namely the area between the fences from 3.8 to the entrance to Strand Zuid at Parkplein. This route will remain open to suppliers and employees of Unlimited Label (Strand-Zuid). Congress Square will also be closed with fences, and only people who are part of the exercise will have access.
