Visitors full of praise for the new AutoRAI

Opening times extended by one hour on Saturday
After the first four days of the AutoRAI exhibition, the visitor response has been extremely positive. Surveys show that nearly two thirds of all visitors gave the event a score of 8 or higher, while a whopping 80 per cent say that the new AutoRAI concept is good to excellent. The AutoRAI runs until Sunday 26 April. On Saturday the exhibition will stay open until 18.00, an hour longer than previously announced, giving afternoon visitors more time to enjoy the event. This is the first time that Amsterdam RAI has adjusted its opening times while an exhibition is ongoing as a service to visitors. The survey also looked into the reasons behind people’s visit to the AutoRAI. A common answer (between 40 to 60 per cent of all visitors) was to see premiers, admire the many exclusive cars, and consider the purchase of a new car. In addition, many visitors (70 per cent) indicated that they attended the AutoRAI for a fun day out. This has obviously been a success as 90 per cent of respondents would recommend a visit to their friends and family.

Rewarding collaboration between RAI and importers
Exhibition Manager Roelant Groen is pleased that the new approach of the AutoRAI has been so well-received. “It is the first time that the entire stand concept of an automotive exhibition has been developed in cooperation with the exhibitors. Together with the car importers, we designed the same look & feel throughout the AutoRAI, while maintaining the unique character of each stand. This marks a global premier in the international exhibition industry and we are delighted that visitors also appreciate the new approach.”

The positive sentiment is also reflected by the response on social media and in individual answers and comments in the survey. Visitors see the stand concept as modern, calm and stylish, describe the setup as well-organised and spacious, and appreciate the focus on cars.

Premier: extended opening hours
The extra opening hour on Saturday 25 April is based on the fact that many visitors did not arrive until the afternoon last Saturday. “The sheer size of the AutoRAI gives visitors too little time to see everything,” says Groen. “Our extended opening hours this coming Saturday gives everyone the chance to enjoy a comprehensive AutoRAI experience. Combined with the evening opening hours on weekdays, people have plenty of opportunities to visit.”

The AutoRAI is open on working days from 11.00 to 22.00, on Saturday from 10.00 to 18.00 and on Sunday from 10.00 to 17.00. Purchasing tickets online via saves €3.50 on tickets bought at the door; children up to the age of 14 can enter free of charge.
