TCA and RAI Amsterdam stimulate the use of sustainable taxis

To celebrate the anniversary edition of ‘Sustainability Day’ in the Netherlands, Amsterdam taxi firm TCA only deployed eco-friendly taxis for its rides from RAI Amsterdam on Wednesday 10 October 2018.

Both TCA and the RAI have a dedicated sustainability policy and the ambition to operate CO2-neutrally as soon as possible. This fact was underlined on Sustainability Day via the exclusive use of eco-friendly taxis for passenger transport from the RAI. The two parties also agreed to give sustainable taxis priority during events from now on, which means that emission-free taxis will always be first in line whenever the RAI operates a taxi stand.

“Aiming for sustainability has become a matter-of-course,” says TCA director Hedy Borreman. “As market leader, TCA aims to have an entirely emission-free fleet by 2025. And in this framework cooperation with organisations that have similar goals helps us work toward a better future. Via the exclusive use of eco-friendly taxis at the RAI on Sustainability Day we were able to highlight our ambitions, enhance the exhibition experience and underline the importance of sustainable mobility among visitors.”

As an international frontrunner with regard to sustainability in the exhibition and conference sector, RAI Amsterdam applauds TCA’s aim for a fast transition to emission-free taxi transport. In 2016, TCA won the exclusive right to pick up passengers at the RAI for the second time.

Sustainability and the RAI
RAI Amsterdam stimulates meaningful meetings, sustainable growth and the development of people, markets and the environment. Every year, the RAI facilitates around 500 national and international events which attract some 1.5 million visitors. In the CSR sphere, the RAI focuses on issues such as zero waste, climate-neutral operational management and a sustainable product range.

Sustainability and TCA
TCA has been taking part in sustainability projects and aiming for green mobility with a focus on high-quality taxi transport since 2011. Its current sustainable fleet consists of 172 vehicles – 150 electric and 22 CNG-powered – and the TCA app allows passengers to select an eco-friendly taxi without having to pay a premium. The Amsterdam taxi firm aims to be fully emission-free by 2025.
