New campaign for Horecava 2017 - Taste the future
The upcoming edition of the Horecava trade show for professionals in the food service industry will revolve around the theme ‘Taste the future’. The exhibition takes place from 9 to 12 January 2017 in RAI Amsterdam and will focus on how rapid technological developments in the food service sector are being combined with an additional focus on craftsmanship and sustainability. The new theme and corresponding campaign visuals illustrate the broad platform offered by the Horecava and its exhibitors.
Horecava 2017 is looking ahead: which developments, ambiences, flavours and services will make the food service sector future-proof? The main cornerstones of the event are food, experience, innovation and sustainability. In addition to a wide range of exhibitors, food service professionals have access to countless activities and presentations revolving around these topics that will help make their business ready for the years ahead.
“Modern consumers are very demanding and food has become a lifestyle matter to many,” says Horecava exhibition manager Luuk Scholte. “So how can we best address their wishes and requirements? And how can unique experiences be created that will be remembered by one’s guests? Exhibition visitors will also learn about the opportunities related to new technologies and how they can make their companies more sustainable in a profitable way.”
New: Food hall
Horecava 2017 will be expanded with an extra hall that is fully focused on food. In addition to suppliers of food products and fresh produce, there will be a spotlight on global foods, including an Asian and an Italian pavilion. The hall also features a new segment called From source to plate in the Netherlands, which highlights local and sustainable products from the Dutch provinces as well as demonstrations and workshops by leading chefs.
The setup of the segments will be very well organised during the coming edition, giving visitors an excellent overview of the event. As was the case at Horecava 2016, there will be eight segments:
- Fast service
- Coffee, Tea & Cocoa
- Large-scale kitchens
- Furnishing & interiors
Another hall has the premier of combining Coffee, Tea & Cocoa with Bakery. A new element here is Barista Bonanza; the coffee platform by SCAE (Speciality Coffee Association of Europe) where international baristas will present the latest trends in coffee. Another premier involves Bean & Leaf, a greenhouse visualising the origins and production of coffee combined with a bar focused on food pairing and batch brew coffee.
In the same hall, the Bakkerij van de (V)Oorsprong is presenting its new partnership with the National Boulangerie and National Patisserie teams to the Dutch public for the first time. Another eye-catcher is No Waste Village, with a focus on sustainability and food waste. Moreover, a Green Route gives visitors a clear overview of all sustainable businesses on the exhibition floor.
The theme of the renewed InnovationLAB is Food & Hospitality. In addition to an exclusive seminar programme for invitees, it will feature a future vision based on various cases for visitors form the channels On the go, Retail, Facilities and Leisure.
Hits and newcomers
Exciting events such as the Dutch Chefs’ Championship and the ‘Lekkerste Wedstrijden’ (the tastiest contests) are also returning at Horecava 2017, including contests for the tastiest meatball and main course salad. The Festival Square in the drinks hall is even larger than last year and will see the return of successful pop-ups including one from the Bierfabriek. There are also various new exhibitors, such as SMEG Nederland, CUP&CINO, CSM Benelux, Animo, Bakkers Brigade, McCain, Oma Bobs Snacks, Vers 24/7, Fuiteveal, Groenrijk Hoveniers and Dawn Foods. The interest in the exhibition is such that some 90 per cent of the floor space has already been booked with three months to go before the doors open for business.
