More exhibitors and more boats at the HISWA 2015
The 2015 watersport season was launched with a wave of enthusiasm at the 60th edition of the HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show in RAI Amsterdam. This year’s HISWA show had seven per cent more exhibitors and thirteen per cent more boats than last year’s event. A survey among visitors also showed that more money was spent and more boats were sold. And some eighty per cent of visitors said they were ready for the new sailing season!
The initial survey results among visitors indicated that 51% of them purchased/ordered something or requested a quote. “Feedback from exhibitors tells us that the growing consumer confidence was directly reflected on the exhibition floor in a greater willingness among visitors to buy,” exhibition manager Joost Ringeling from Amsterdam RAI says.Good vibes
A wonderful atmosphere prevailed on the exhibition floor of HISWA 2015 from day one and the organisers can look back on the 60th edition with a feeling of accomplishment. “We already noticed a good mood among both exhibitors and visitors and the exhibition team in the run up to the show,” Ringeling notes. “This was later reflected during the boat show itself. The majority of exhibitors were able to do good business and the atmosphere was resolutely optimistic. There were higher sales than in previous years, which is excellent news for the industry.” A total of 43,405 watersport enthusiasts visited HISWA 2015.
Winner of HISWA Sailboat, Moterboat and Product of the Year 2014
On 11 March, the opening day of the HISWA show, the Saffier Se 33 was announced as Sailboat of the Year. The choice for Motorboat of the Year fell on the Korvet 14 CLR. And the HISWA Product of the Year award went to the RS Aero.
The InnovationLAB platform, where innovations, trends, knowledge and market developments come together, was significantly larger this year. The same applied to the world of HISWA Funsport, where visitors could find everything in the field of wind surfing, kite surfing and stand-up paddling (SUP). Visitors could try out this new watersport and workout for themselves in a separate SUP basin, and there was also a kite surfing simulator. New this year was the Funsport Shop, where visitors could immediately purchase products at reasonable exhibition prices.
Stephan van den Berg of Van Den Berg Surf was very pleased. “The Funsport segment was really able to position itself well at the exhibition this year. It is interesting to see how the people at which the Funsport is aimed at don’t yet know that they are our target audience, and that’s why we’re here. The approach works: Funsport has much to offer and is very accessible to people of all ages.”
HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show
For even more watersport fun in 2015, visitors can visit HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show from 1 to 6 September in the Amsterdam Marina at the NDSM yard in Amsterdam Noord. This exhibition is organised by HISWA Multimedia BV.
