MobilityRAI connects sector and prioritises the mobility of tomorrow

RAI Association and RAI Amsterdam launch new platform
Zero emissions, drone distribution, electric bike sales and, unfortunately, traffic jams too; the challenges and opportunities in the mobility sector are legion. The new MobilityRAI initiative from the RAI Association and RAI Amsterdam responds seamlessly to this. Mobility RAI is a completely new business platform for professionals in the mobility sector. Combining a three-day trade fair with a full conference programme, it will serve as a single time and place to prioritise the mobility of tomorrow.

During the first edition, the focus will be on products, services and maintenance connected with trailer and bodywork manufacture and assembly for heavy and light road transport. The extensive conference programme will enrich, challenge and stimulate discussion on current issues, new developments, trends and regulations. From 2019 onwards, MobilityRAI’s ambition is to grow into a platform that represents all modalities, products and services in the field of mobility. The first MobilityRAI will take place from 19 to 21 October 2017 at RAI Amsterdam and every two years thereafter.

The mobility landscape is developing at a breakneck speed. On a daily basis, businesses have to deal with subjects such as autonomous driving, the last mile, zero emissions, car sharing, drone distribution, platooning and more. In addition, there has been a growth in package delivery services, private leasing companies, electric bike sales and, indeed, traffic jams too. MobilityRAI is designed to respond to all of these issues and more.

“As an authority in the field of mobility, the RAI Association has a 125-year tradition of organising trade fairs with RAI Amsterdam that reflect the needs of the mobility sector and contemporary developments,” says Steven van Eijck, chairman of the RAI Association. “Members of the RAI Association are leading lights internationally in the development of innovations in this field. There is no better place than under the umbrella of the RAI Association and RAI Amsterdam to create a platform highlighting all products and services in the field of mobility and discussing the wider issues and solutions. Our ambition is for the 2019 edition onwards to grow into a platform where all modalities, products and services are represented.”

“We live in a time in which societal trends and technological developments take place at a rapid pace,” adds Paul Riemens, CEO of RAI Amsterdam. “The mobility sector is a visible and engaging subject for the public. It is therefore highly appropriate that the sector has created a platform at which all innovations, opportunities and challenges can be discussed and showcased within an integrated trade fair and conference programme. MobilityRAI represents a new path for us, together with the RAI Association. RAI Amsterdam looks forward to developing this programme for the entire Dutch mobility community.

2017 trade fair and conference programme
MobilityRAI 2017 consists of an extensive trade fair and conference programme. On the exhibition floor the emphasis will be on products, services and maintenance connected with trailer and bodywork manufacture and assembly for heavy and light road transport. Knowledge theatres will also be arranged for each segment, where practical information can be shared and businesses can highlight their benefits.

The aim of the conference is to bring together all professionals in the mobility sector, along with policy makers and politicians, to share their knowledge. To ensure that the programme’s content is entirely up to speed with market developments, the sector itself will be closely involved in its organisation. In this way, the first MobilityRAI will be a true inspiration for transport companies, fleet owners, logistical service providers, shipping companies, drivers and vehicle service & repair firms.
