Major expansion for Horecava exhibition in 2017

New food hall with a focus on experience
Horecava, the Dutch trade exhibition for professionals in the food service industry, will take place from 9 to 12 January 2017 in RAI Amsterdam. The event is undergoing a major expansion, including the addition of an extra exhibition hall, and the next edition will be even more centred on food than previous ones. Producers and suppliers in the Food segment will have a hall of their own and the range will be extended to local and world cuisine. The main focus will be on experience. There is already a great deal of interest by exhibitors: more than 70% of the total exhibition surface has been booked.

“Two years ago we started to introduce a more well-defined layout for the exhibition,” says Luuk Scholte, exhibition manager for Horecava at RAI Amsterdam. “The segmented hall configuration made it easier for our visitors to find their way round and ensured that exhibiting companies could meet the right customers. The producers and suppliers of food and fresh produce were, however, still scattered across several halls. Combined with growing numbers of exhibitors, this made us decide to expand the event with a hall in which all food producers could exhibit together, allowing us to give the Food segment the attention it deserves. This development also made it possible to place the coffee and bakery segments in one hall. The range and the experience will be even more comprehensive and attractive to visitors.”

New Food Hall for local and global trends
The new Food Hall is full of local and global trends. An example is the ‘Fresh & Pure’ pavilion, dedicated entirely to craftsmanship and fresh, organic, sustainable, fair trade and socially responsible food. In addition, a spotlight will be shone on local gastronomy with the rollout of the concept ‘From Source to Plate’, which will give a stage to various food products and gourmet heroes from different Dutch regions. The Food Hall will also host the new sub-segment ‘Global’, including an Asian and an Italian pavilion, among others.

Continuation of the Drinks Hall redesign
The new design of the Drinks Hall, which turned it into a bright area with a festive ambiance during the last Horecava, has been a success. This has led to the continuation and further expansion of the concept. In addition to the segments Food, Drinks, Coffee, Tea & Chocolate and Bakery, visitors will find lots to browse in the segments Fast Service, Service Provision, Kitchens and Furnishings & Inventory. Within the segments there will be plenty of focus on trends and developments in the form of workshops, demonstrations, competitions and presentations that bring new ideas to entrepreneurs.

Huge interest in exhibiting at Horecava
More and more exhibitors are registering for Horecava 2017. “Over 70% of the exhibition space has already been booked by 300 companies,” Scholte says. “It is clear that this interest in Horecava is based on positive responses to previous editions: 95% of exhibitors gave the success of the last edition as their main reason for exhibiting in this one.” More information about exhibiting at Horecava is available on
