Focus on food waste and sustainability at the Horecava show
The upcoming edition of the Horecava trade show for professionals in the food service industry will pay a great deal of attention to food waste and sustainability. The new No Waste Village is dedicated to practical solutions to wasting food. In addition, there are a range of sustainable initiatives at the exhibition including a Green Route, the Karel de Vos Sustainability Award, the Fresh & Pure section and a new pavilion called From Source to Plate in the Netherlands. Horecava 2017 will be held from 9 to 12 January in the RAI Amsterdam convention centre with the overall theme being ‘Taste the Future’.
No Waste Village
The No Waste Village will provide foodservice professionals with smart tips for both saving and earning money by tackling waste. The initiators will share their expertise with show visitors and raise awareness of the issue of food waste. There will also be lots of things to taste in the No Waste Village along with practical ideas such as circular solutions whereby waste is transformed into raw materials for new products.
