Extensive renovations to pavilion behind RAI Amsterdam
Strandzuid started as a pop-up location in 2005 at a time when the site was due to accommodate the new Nhow Amsterdam RAI hotel. Now that the hotel is being built adjacent to the A10 ring road, Strandzuid will move to a permanent building by the lake in the Beatrix Park as of spring 2017.
The construction of the new building started in early November. The two smaller pavilions have been removed and the site is being prepared for construction. The renewed Strandzuid is expected to reopen its doors as an event location in mid-April and as a restaurant in mid-May.
Once the Strandzuid rebuild is completed the city of Amsterdam and the RAI will have access to a renewed event location with a restaurant, various terraces and mooring spots for boats.
