ERS Congress in RAI Amsterdam
From Saturday 26 to Wednesday 30 September, the city of Amsterdam will have a focus on clean lungs. This will be within the framework of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Congress in RAI Amsterdam, which revolves around the fight against pulmonary diseases. During the conference, the Beursplein square in the centre of Amsterdam will host a public event on the topic of clean lungs. There will also be custom designed clean bicycle and walking routes set up in the city centre to promote knowledge exchange and the prevention of pulmonary diseases. All this and more sees RAI Amsterdam and Amsterdam Marketing involving the city and its residents in the ERS Congress content in a unique way.
To increase understanding of the origins and prevention of pulmonary diseases, ERS will place information stands and equipment for measuring lung capacity at the Beursplein in Amsterdam on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September, making the subject of the RAI event part of the city of Amsterdam itself. As a result, the ERS Congress will become more visible and make a lasting impression on visitors and residents alike.
Mayor of Amsterdam
Such activities are made possible because Amsterdam is the most compact metropolis in the world. RAI Amsterdam offers international event organisers the option of being a virtual ‘mayor of Amsterdam’. The mayoral chain of the RAI consists of various links, each representing a key element that the RAI offers to help organisers make their event successful: the Netherlands, Amsterdam, accessibility, knowledge & network, ROI, a flexible configuration, services, meaningful experiences, innovation and sustainability. From 26 to 30 September, the organisers of ERS will metaphorically take over the city of Amsterdam and the RAI as the temporary mayor.
