BedrijfsautoRAI 2017 cancelled
After discussions with the exhibition committee, RAI Amsterdam B.V. and the RAI Association have decided to cancel the BedrijfsautoRAI 2017 trade show. Despite a very successful edition in 2015, a number of major truck brands have indicated that they will not take part in the 2017 exhibition. Their decision has had a major impact on one of BedrijfsautoRAI’s key attractions. In consultation with the Special Vehicles department of the RAI Association, the decision has been taken to look into an exhibition concept for 2017 revolving around bodywork and trailer construction. The BedrijfsautoRAI was scheduled to be held from 17 to 21 October 2017.
Truck brands at the heart
The recent additions of BedrijfsautoRAI have been founded upon four product segments: trucks, vans, special vehicles and parts & accessories. The truck companies have the largest stands and invite the majority of visitors to the event. “By tradition, the truck brands are the driving force behind the exhibition,” explains Ids Boersma, director of RAI Exhibitions. “Visitors expected to see all the major European truck companies at BedrijfsautoRAI, presenting themselves with officially branded stands. Unfortunately, a number of these companies have indicated that they will not be taking part, which has undermined the essence of the event. We have taken all possible scenarios into consideration but nothing could convince the truck companies to change their minds.”
