1.5 million meetings at Horecava 2016
The Horecava 2016 exhibition in RAI Amsterdam illustrated how the hospitality and food service industry does good business in a dynamic environment. The 600-plus companies participating in the 60th anniversary edition of the Horecava trade show indicated that the sector is once again actively developing and innovating. This was underlined by the strong desire to invest among visitors; 60 per cent were ready to do business with exhibiting companies as a result of their visit. The percentage of decision makers was as high as ever at nearly 80 per cent. With a focus on experience, the four days of the largest hospitality and food service trade exhibition in the Netherlands saw a total of 1.5 million meetings. The successful 60th edition of the Horecava took place from 11 to 14 January in RAI Amsterdam.
The innovations, trends and wide ranging offer attracted some 63,000 hospitality and food service professionals; an increase of over 15 per cent compared to the previous edition. The number of visiting companies grew by more than 12 per cent.
“People using facilities in the hospitality and food service sector today expect to enjoy an experience,” says exhibition manager Luuk Scholte of RAI Amsterdam. “We have added this feature to our exhibition with new contemporary concepts and pop-up restaurants. Both the participating companies and the visitors welcomed the setup. The new initiatives and the professional character of the event resulted in more leads and qualitative meetings, which was highly appreciated by the exhibitors.”
In total Horecava 2016 realised 1.5 million meetings in four days, including 1.2 million meetings between visitors and exhibitors, and another 300,000 between visitors.
Wealth of innovation and sustainability at Horecava
In addition to the wide variety of products showcased by the exhibitors, the event focused on innovation and sustainability. The InnovationLAB concept at the Horecava provided a broad platform for exchanging knowledge and sustainable developments in food, drink and equipment. The pavilion presented ways in which hospitality and food service professionals can translate trends into new opportunities for companies in the sector.
The 61st edition of Horecava will take place from Monday 9 to Thursday 12 January 2017 in RAI Amsterdam. More information about the Horecava is available via www.horecava.nl.
