The fact that RAI Amsterdam has been actively increasing the sustainability of its location and events since 2007 has not gone unnoticed. It is with pride that we present the following awards and certificates we have won and received.
We were the first exhibition and conference in Europe (and only the second in the world) to achieve EarthCheck Gold status. EarthCheck is the world's leading sustainability certification in the business tourism sector.
We obtained the AIPC (International Association of Congress Centres) Gold Certificate, joining a select group of 24 AIPC conference centres which represent this international certification in the domains of quality, facilities and social responsibility.
Green Key Gold
Green Key is the largest sustainability label for the realistic and recreational industry in the Netherlands. More than 700 Dutch companies have produced this quality mark, the RAI is Green key gold certified, the highest attainable level.
The design for the RAI Amtrium, our new multifunctional congress, conference and office concept, was awarded a four-star BREEAM design certificate for new buildings (Excellent). BREEAM-NL is an assessment method that determines the sustainability performance of buildings in the Netherlands. This is the first time that a convention centre in the Netherlands has met this stringent sustainability standard.
ISO-9001 and ISO-14001
We have been ISO-9001 and ISO-14001 certified since 2011, which confirms that we have systems for managing quality and the environment with structured processes. The focus is on meeting customer needs and environmental laws and regulations, and on continuous improvement.
OHSAS-18001 (Health & Safety)
RAI Amsterdam received the OHSAS-18001 (occupational health and safety) certificate in early 2016. This standard focuses on the monitoring of working conditions and safety.
One of RAI Amsterdam’s core values is that the RAI is for everyone. To improve accessibility for people with disabilities, we invested in upgrades such as disabled parking places, toilets and lifts, and tactile guideways around our main reception for visually impaired persons. Since 2017 RAI Amsterdam is certified for the ITS standard (Dutch integrated accessibility standard for persons with a disability).
