Friday, 20 May 2022

RAI Amsterdam is nominated for the AEO (Association of Exhibition Organisers) Excellence Awards 2022. The awards represent the best that the events industry has to offer and showcase the amazing achievements from within our industry. The awards will be rewarded on June 24 in Grosvesnor House, London.

About AEO
Association of Event Organisers Ltd (AEO) is the trade body representing companies which conceive, create, develop or manage trade and consumer events.

Nominated in two categories
We are, based on our entries, nominated for Venue of the Year - more than 20,000 sqm. Other nominess in this category are ADNEC, Excel London, P&J Live, SEC, The NEC and The O2.
We are also nominated for the Sustainability Initiative award, next to 73 Media, Hyve Group, Informa Markets, Olympia London and The NEC Group.

For the category Venue of the Year we named our new magazine Connect. This keeps us in touch with our organisers and keeps them informed of developments within the industry, the Netherlands, Amsterdam and the RAI. We have also named the RAI Virtual Tour, which makes it possible to view the RAI with organizations and suppliers without unnecessary travel movements, and we have mentioned the few months that we were open in 2021 and the very diverse events that we were able to successfully hold.

Recent years have taught us that there is still a need for physical events. By working closely with our organizers, we have managed to set up successful events in corona time. As Tracey Davies, president of Money 20/20 said: “The magic of live events is that you don't know who you don't know. In digital you have to know who it is you want to meet."

Within the categorySustainability Initiative, we have named the Donation Room program. We ensure that leftover items end up at local initiatives after an event and we allow exhibitors to be part of the project.

RAI Amsterdam has previously won two AEO Awards, in 2016 in the Sustainability category and in 2019 in the Best Use of Technology category.
