Dear Sir/Madam,
Welcome to the September 2009 edition of the Intertraffic E-newsletter, powered by Intertraffic.com. This E-newsletter puts the spotlights on the Showcase 2010, taking place concurrently with Intertraffic Amsterdam |
| Showcase 2010 |
A world-class showcase on innovative communication technologies in vehicles and on the road based on the final results of the EU funded FP6 projects CVIS, SAFESPOT and COOPERS
A world-class showcase of innovative communication technologies in vehicles and on the road will take place in and around Amsterdam RAI from 23 to 26 March 2010 in association with Intertraffic Amsterdam 2010, the world's leading exhibition for infrastructure, traffic management, safety and parking.
The showcase will feature the final results of three European integrated projects CVIS, SAFESPOT and COOPERS, co-financed by the European Union's Sixth Framework Programme of Research. The showcase comprises three linked events:
a conference on the theme of cooperative mobility using next-generation vehicle-to- vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication systems;
on-road demonstrations of the achievements of European R&D projects on cooperative systems; and
the i&CDrive trade exhibition of cooperative systems products & services.
The conference is co-organised by the European Commission, the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, the cooperative mobility projects CVIS, SAFESPOT and COOPERS, and Amsterdam RAI. This truly international event will give traffic and mobility professionals the opportunity to learn about and experience for themselves the latest developments in the field of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication technologies, applications and services.
During the conference executives and experts of the CVIS, SAFESPOT and COOPERS projects will present the final results available following four years of development, testing and validation. The programme will also address the challenge of deploying cooperative systems, with high-profile speakers from Europe and around the globe. An accompanying programme of short courses will explain how cooperative systems work, and how to implement them.
Alongside the conference, delegates can experience cooperative mobility through hands-on live demonstrations whilst the expo will show you the emerging cooperative system products and services coming to market from the world's leading ITS providers.
3-day Conference (24-26 March)

The conference will focus on the promised benefits of cooperative systems and the challenge for their implementation in the new world of cooperative mobility. The three days of inspiring presentations, challenging debates and international high-level discussions will present:
How cooperative mobility deployment will contribute to benefits for the environment, safety and mobility
The newest core technologies and applications for cooperative mobility
Results of validation trials at the European projects’ test sites of a wide range of cooperative mobility applications
Meeting the challenge for implementing cooperative systems in vehicles and infrastructure across Europe
Delegates will be international key decision makers, including government leaders, highway and public transport officials, automotive manufacturers and suppliers and the ITS industry.
Live demonstrations - driving the future
Delegates will have the unique opportunity to experience the latest techniques and developments on vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication in live demonstrations on the road. Your demo drive will take you on a track in the RAI grounds as well as out on the nearby motorways and city roads, to demonstrate tomorrow's cooperative applications for drivers. The demonstrations will highlight the positive impacts for the environment, safety, mobility and individual travellers.
The Expo
Integrated in the Intertraffic exhibition is the i&CDrive expo, a dedicated area with the latest solutions, products and services for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure interaction. As Intertraffic celebrates its 20th anniversary, the world's leading event for infrastructure, traffic management, safety and parking with over 800 exhibitors, will offer you the unique opportunity to network and see total traffic solutions from around the world.
