| Intertraffic Istanbul - 27.28.29 May 2009 |
Intertraffic Istanbul offers significant potential for business due to the major increase in traffic infrastructure projects in Turkey and the rise of developing markets such as Eastern Europe, the CIS and the Middle East. The Turkish Directorate of Highways is aiming to complete some 22,000 kilometres of new roads by 2011, and the share of asphalt concrete road, currently only 12%, is projected to rise to 50%.
Expanding 'smart road' applications to the whole country is also included in the country's strategic plan, and a budget allocated for seven build-operate-transfer projects alone totals $22 billion. Typifying the potential for non-Turkish companies, the Marmaray Project in Istanbul is being built by multinational partners to connect Europe to Asia via an undersea tunnel.
Intertraffic Istanbul will feature a conference programme "Traffic Solutions Platform - 2", organised by the University of Bahcesehir, which encompasses many keynote subjects and top notch panels, expecting to attract the attention of regional and international market leaders, as the very latest trends and innovations are explored.
The programme will cover the following subjects:
|
Intelligent Transport Systems
Public Transportation and Rail Systems: Public Transportation Management, Privatization Examples,Sector Investments
Local Traffic: Traffic Planning, Application Solutions, Road Safety, Shopping Centers and large sites impact of Traffic.
